It took us a while to find a budget place we really liked to stay in Cusco. You know the kind of cozy, friendly intimate environment where you feel like you are visiting friends rather than just passing time in another soulless hotel and that doesn’t break the bank when you need a place to stay?
The Casona Les Pleiades bed and breakfast Cusco, a small B&B in the heart of San Blas is one of our favourites. It’s a small boutique B&B built in 1800 in the Republican style with just eight rooms set around a typical patio. A lot of heart has been put into this bed and breakfast by the owners Andrea and Roberto, a Peruvian-Italian couple.
In the past few months they have worked hard to improve the offering of this guesthouse and have made several welcome changes that take this accommodation up a level, while keeping it in the affordable price bracket. They have completely re-modelled the bathrooms with Spanish showers and a permanent, excellent hot water supply. All rooms now have in-built central heating (a rarity in Cusco!) and which is most welcome on the cold evenings as well as mini-bars and new flatscreen tv’s.
They recently just opened their on site ‘Vespa Restaurant’ which serves Italian-Peruvian cuisine using the finest Italian and Peruvian ingredients and specializes in pasta dishes.
Rates include a buffet breakfast with natural products and if you need to leave early in the morning, just let them know and they can prepare breakfast early.
This is one of our top picks for budget places to stay in Cusco – staff is friendly, helpful and happy to share their top tips on what to see and do in Cusco and the hotel itself punches above its weight in terms of the room quality in this price bracket in Cusco.
